How a Baths-Only Trip from Krakow Works

The four choices that decide which Chochołów trip suits you.

  1. Pick evening or daytime

Most baths-only trips leave Krakow in the afternoon and bring you back late at night. Legendary Krakow's evening runs depart at 16:00, and HelloCracow's evening trip lasts about 7 hours in all. If you prefer daylight in the outdoor pools, Legendary Krakow also sells an 08:00 morning option with hotel pickup.

  2. Choose pickup or meeting point

The cheaper evening trips leave from a central meeting point in Krakow, and your confirmation gives the exact address. The skip-the-line ticket and transfer from Poland is beautiful collects you from your accommodation and drops you back there, for about $19 more than the cheapest evening run.

  3. Three hours at Chochołowskie Termy

Every trip here gives a 3-hour pool ticket. The pools are kept at 32 to 38°C, indoors and out, so the outdoor water stays warm on a cold night. On some listings the three hours include changing time, and the baths charge 0.50 PLN for every minute you stay past the ticket.

  4. Pay the extras on your wristband

Anything you buy inside, from towels to food or a sauna upgrade, goes on your wristband and is paid when you leave. On the HelloCracow trip the VIP spa area costs 50 PLN, the Olympic-size pool 20 PLN and a towel 10 PLN. Bring swimwear, flip-flops and your own towel.

BATHS-ONLY GUIDE

Chochołów Thermal Baths Trips from Krakow Compared

Evening or day, meeting point or hotel pickup, and what the ticket leaves out.

If you want the thermal pools and not a full sightseeing day, book HelloCracow’s Chochołów Thermal Baths Evening Trip on GetYourGuide. It costs from $63 per person, takes about 7 hours from a central Krakow meeting point and back, and includes a 3-hour ticket that covers the indoor and outdoor pools, the relaxation area and the textile saunas. It holds 4.6 from 574 GetYourGuide reviews, more than any other baths-only trip on this site, and its from-price is the lowest of the four (prices checked October 2026).

Two alternatives beat it on comfort or rating. The Chochołowskie Thermal Baths Skip-the-Line Ticket and Transfer collects you from your accommodation, from $82 per person, with 4.9 from 139 GetYourGuide reviews. Legendary Krakow’s Chochołów Thermal Baths Evening Experience on Viator costs from about $72 per person and holds 5.0 from 267 reviews on Viator.

Check your date before anything else. Chochołowskie Termy is closed from 19 to 30 October 2026 for building and modernisation work. Around those dates HelloCracow and Legendary Krakow run Bania evening options to Terma Bania in Białka Tatrzańska, so read the option name at checkout.

Quick picks by what you want

Baths-only or a Zakopane day with the baths?

Settle this first, because everything else follows from it. A baths-only trip spends its whole budget on the pools: about two hours on the road each way, three hours in the water, nothing else. A Zakopane-and-baths day adds Chochołów village, a cheese tasting, the Gubałówka funicular and free time on Krupówki, then gives you the same three hours in the same complex. The cost is time: the Thousand Miles day runs 11 to 12 hours.

So if you have already seen Zakopane, or you want an easy evening after a day of walking around Krakow, the trips on this page fit. If this is your one trip to the mountains, a full day costs roughly $30 to $50 more and covers much more ground. The same Thousand Miles day costs from about $114 on Viator and from $102 on GetYourGuide as the Krakow–Zakopane: Cable Car, Chocholow Baths, Cheese & Vodka listing (4.8 from 11,112 GetYourGuide reviews), so check both for your date. Our Zakopane and thermal baths page compares every full-day combination.

The four baths-only trips

HelloCracow’s evening trip is the budget pick. You meet at a central point in Krakow, ride about two hours, and get three hours at Chochołowskie Termy before the drive home. The ticket on this trip includes the relaxation area and the textile saunas, which several other operators charge extra for, and weekend evenings add a poolside party with a DJ. The 4.6 rating is the lowest here, and reviewers repeatedly say the complex feels closer to a busy water park full of families than a quiet spa. Our breakdown of the evening trip lists every extra.

Legendary Krakow’s evening experience leaves at 16:00 from its start point in Krakow and returns there about 7 hours later. It is the best-rated of the four. Note that its 3-hour ticket includes changing time before and after you swim, and that sauna, spa and massage zones need a separate ticket. The complex rules say saunas are used undressed.

The same operator’s day-or-evening listing is the flexible one. The evening option is close to the dedicated evening trip, while the morning option starts at 08:00 with hotel pickup, and a private option keeps a car and driver for a day of up to about 12 hours, from about €169 per person for two. Shared trips end near the Old Town, not at your hotel.

The skip-the-line ticket and transfer from Poland is beautiful is the most door-to-door option. A driver collects you from your accommodation, the drive takes about an hour and a half each way, and you have three hours of free time in the pools with no guide inside. Food and towel rental are extra. See our breakdown of the transfer trip for the full inclusions.

What the ticket covers, and what you pay on the day

Chochołowskie Termy sits in the village of Chochołów, about 20 km from Zakopane. Its pools are kept at 32 to 38°C across about 4,500 m² of water, heated with water drawn from a well 3,572 m deep. Besides the pools there is a Saunarium, oxygen chambers, a spa and a restaurant.

Your tour ticket is a 3-hour pool pass. What it adds varies by trip:

  • Saunas: included on the HelloCracow evening trip (textile saunas and relaxation area); separate on Legendary Krakow’s trips and on the Thousand Miles day.
  • VIP spa area and non-textile saunas: 50 PLN on the day on the HelloCracow trip.
  • Olympic-size pool: 20 PLN on the day on the HelloCracow trip.
  • Towel: 10 PLN to rent on the HelloCracow trip; every other listing tells you to bring your own or rent on site.
  • Overstaying: the baths charge 0.50 PLN for every extra minute past a time-limited ticket.
  • Food and drinks: not included on any of them.

Purchases go on your wristband and are settled when you leave. The baths set a wristband credit limit of 500 PLN for over-16s and 100 PLN for children, so bring a card or cash for the exit desk.

For a sense of what the tour price buys, the baths sell a 3-hour adult pool ticket for about 95 to 115 PLN in the low season. The rest of the fare is the return transport and the driver.

What to bring

Pack swimwear, flip-flops and a towel. Legendary Krakow’s listings supply none of them, and the baths sell them at the door. Bring money for food, since none of the trips includes it. If you are travelling with a child under 150 cm, tell HelloCracow so they can arrange a child seat; Legendary Krakow offers infant seats on request. HelloCracow lists its evening trip as unsuitable for children under 2 and for pregnant women. At the baths, reduced tickets are for children aged 3 to 16, and children under 3 enter free with a photo ID.

Evening or winter?

The pools open from 9:00 to 22:00 Sunday to Thursday and to 23:00 on Friday and Saturday, which is why the evening trips work. On clear evenings the outdoor pools catch the sunset. In winter the contrast between hot water and cold air is the point for many people: Zakopane averages below freezing from December to February. If you want snow and the pools in one day, the snowmobile trips end in the same baths; see our Zakopane snowmobile tours page, and budget 400 PLN in cash per two-seat snowmobile on top.

Where to go next

If the baths are one part of a bigger day, start with our best Zakopane tours from Krakow or the guide to which Zakopane tour from Krakow is right for you. For a day in town without the pools, see our Zakopane day trip page, and if you would rather travel independently, our Krakow to Zakopane page compares the bus and train. "Thermal baths were great! I will say that it is less thermal baths and more man-made pools/water park, but it was a fun experience nevertheless."

"The tour was great! The driver was very good and friendly. It really is a water park, don't expect quiet relaxation. There are tons of kids and families there. It's a fun experience, the facility is clean and well-kept and there are tons of different pools to go in although they're all mostly the same temperature. Highly recommend!"
