Morskie Oko Lake and Zakopane Day Tour from Krakow

About This Experience
The driver collects you from your accommodation in Krakow; the exact pickup time is confirmed the evening before, and the listing warns the driver may be up to 15 minutes late. The drive to the mountains takes about two hours, depending on traffic.
Morskie Oko is the main event. Cars stop at Palenica Białczańska, and from there it is about 8 km each way on an asphalt road through the forest. The listing allows about two hours each way; the park service puts it at about 2.5 hours. Since 1 September 2026 horse carriages run only from Palenica Białczańska to Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza (about 2.9 km), so carriage riders still walk the rest of the way to the lake.
Your park entry ticket is included. Later the tour moves on to Zakopane, where your ticket for the Gubałówka funicular is included, and you get free time on Krupówki, the town's main pedestrian street. A cottage cheese tasting and a flavoured vodka tasting are also part of the day.
Two options are sold: a group tour with hotel pickup and a private ride in your own vehicle. Both are priced per person by party size, so the cost per head falls sharply as your group grows. Food is not included, and the listing excludes a guide, as the English-speaking driver runs the day.

Fantastic trip up to the mountains of southern Poland. Don’t under estimate the effort but it worth it. Thank you to a driver and guide full of knowledge about the region. Go outside cites and see how beautiful the countryside is

The whole trip was awesome and enjoyable. We never regret booking this trip as it was well organised and lead by a super friendly and responsible driver who is very attentive and takes care of us well. If you ever booked this trip, please follow driver, Michal, and you will never regret.

The lake was, of course, absolutely stunning. The walk wasn't too difficult apart from a bit of ice, and the view of the tatras the whole way up was amazing. We also loved our guide David. He was always there when we needed him, gave us some extremely memorable sights, and was a really lovely guy! If I did this again I'd want him as my guide.
