Private Zakopane and Tatra Mountains Full-Day Tour from Krakow

4.6 (34 verified reviews)

About This Experience

Krakowdirect runs this as a private tour in a Mercedes car, minivan or minibus, so no other travellers share the vehicle with you and your English-speaking host. The operator suggests a 9:00 start for what is about a 9-hour day, with roughly 1.5 to 2 hours of driving each way.

The day opens in Chochołów, a village of wooden houses, where the itinerary includes a photo stop and a tasting of smoked sheep's-milk cheese (sold as oscypek) and local spirits. The written plan also mentions a wood sculptor's workshop here.

In Zakopane you spend about half an hour at the market below Gubałówka, then ride the funicular to the ridge, with the tickets included and about 1.5 hours for the views and a coffee or beer at the top. After that comes about 1.5 hours on Krupówki Street for lunch, which you pay for yourself.

Later stops are the wooden church and old cemetery at Pęksowy Brzyzek and the wooden Jaszczurówka chapel on the edge of town. The written schedule also lists a stop at the Wielka Krokiew ski jump; times can change with the weather or your own pace.

Prices start from $156 per person, and the listing has group pricing worth checking for larger parties. It holds 4.6 from 34 GetYourGuide reviews, and you can cancel up to 24 hours ahead for a full refund.

We had a fantastic trip. Blueberry really enhanced the tour. She spoke really good English and went out of her way to make sure we had an enjoyable time. Blueberry took us to a great cafe on route that served delicious coffee and cakes. We enjoyed the trip to the woodcarver, the cheese producer but especially the Mountain Views in Zakopane. The private tour meant it was more relaxing even though it was a full day. Highly recommended!😁
