About This Experience

This trip collects you from your accommodation in Krakow and drives about an hour and a half south to the Podhale region. The opening stop is Chochołów, a village of old wooden highlander houses, where you have around half an hour to walk along the street and take photos.

Next comes a traditional highlander hut for a tasting of smoked sheep's-milk cheese sold as oscypek, with a shot of local alcohol according to the listing's highlights. On the way into Zakopane the driver stops for photos at Wielka Krokiew, the big ski jump, and at the wooden Jaszczurówka Chapel.

In Zakopane your funicular ticket for Gubałówka is already included. The ride climbs about 300 m in roughly 3.5 minutes, and the itinerary allows around an hour at the top for the Tatra view. The rest of the time in town is free for Krupówki Street, lunch and shopping.

Your driver doubles as tour leader in English or Polish, and you are dropped back at your accommodation in the evening. The whole day runs about 9 hours. Prices start from $74 per person, and the trip holds 4.7 from 1,737 GetYourGuide reviews.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.7/5 by 1,737 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

Kornel was an excellent driver, personable, and eager to answer any questions. Tatra National Park is beautiful and the view after taking the funicular to the top was well worth it. The town of Zakopane’s main street was very crowded.

Zakopane is a beautiful place to visit. The stops were appreciated and visiting the shepherd to taste cheese and vodka were enjoyed. The only slight negative was that I sat in the back of the vehicle and could not here the driver as the music was too loud.

The guide was very friendly. The weather permitted. We loved the environment. I recommend it!
