Zakopane Small-Group Tour with Funicular and Cheese Tasting

4.8 (405 verified reviews)

About This Experience

Pickup from your accommodation in Krakow runs between 8:20 and 9:20 AM, and the van heads about an hour and a half south towards the Tatras. After a short photo stop in a traditional village, the group reaches Chochołów, known for its wooden highlander houses.

In Chochołów there is a tasting of smoked sheep's-milk cheese sold as oscypek, served with Polish vodka. A brief photo stop at the Wielka Krokiew ski jump follows on the way into Zakopane; the operator also mentions a chance to see the wooden Jaszczurówka Chapel during the day.

The main block is about 3.5 hours in Zakopane. Your funicular ticket for Gubałówka is included; the car climbs about 300 m in roughly 3.5 minutes to the ridge for views of the Tatras. The rest of the time is yours on Krupówki Street for lunch, shopping and a walk.

The guide speaks English and Polish, with a printed brochure in other languages. Prices start from $74 per person in the small group, and a private option is listed at about $231. The tour holds 4.8 from 405 GetYourGuide reviews.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.8/5 by 405 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

Wonderful day in Zakopane! Everything was very well organized and the timing worked perfectly. The transportation was very comfortable, and Pablo was punctual, friendly and helpful, providing useful information and tips throughout the trip. I really enjoyed Chochołów, the cheese and local drinks tasting, Gubałówka with the beautiful Tatra views, and the wooden church. Having the funicular tickets already arranged was a great advantage, as we could avoid the long ticket queue and make the most of our free time in Zakopane. A wonderful experience and highly recommended!

The tour is taking too long in my opinion, there is nothing to do in Zakopane for 4 hours. Two hours are more than enough, the view from the top is great. Guide Kuba was very informative and kind. Honestly to spend all day on this trip is not worth it, half would’ve been much better
